- Three people were killed by Boko Haram insurgents in a raid
- The attack happened about 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27 in Borno state
A local official on Thursday, September 28, said three people were killed by Boko Haram in a raid targeting vulnerable rural communities.
NAIJ.com gathered that Modu Ganamani, the information officer for the Guzamala local government area in northern Borno state, said the attack happened at about 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27.
He said: "Boko Haram insurgents came in large numbers in trucks and on motorcycles and attacked Goram and two neighbouring villages, Lingis and Ajidari."
"They killed three people and burned around 150 homes. They looted foodstores and set them on fire."
However it was not immediately clear as to which faction of Boko Haram was responsible for the attack.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, two people were also killed when a convoy of vehicles hit landmines on the road from the Borno state capital to Dikwa.
Governor Shettima said he was unlucky that he inherited the twin problems in 2011 and he wished that the problems would have been eradicated by the time he was through with his tenure.
Daily Trust also reports that the governor made this known while inaugurating committees with the mandate of cleaning up rebuilt communities and resettling of over two million internally displaced persons.
