Otti mocks FG over failure to revive Moribund National TV station in Abia
The 2015 guber candidate for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Alex Otti, on Wednesday blasted the Federal Government over its inability to revive the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Umuahia which has been taken over by grass and reptiles for over five years.
According to Otti, the failure of Federal Government to fix the decayed facilities have resulted to loss of jobs by Abians.
He also lamented the inability of the Buhari led govt to take full responsibility and address the killings across the country.
In what he described as inept leadership of the APC at the center, he called on Nigerians to make good use of their PVC come 2019.
The station's General manager, Dr. Uche Njoku disclosed that even though they were off air, they were still gathering and filing news which they usually send to network through the Enugu network center, but that due to the situation on ground , the management team had to be running the station from individual pockets since federal government had since stopped giving them subventions.
He narrated the pathetic situation and difficulty facing staff of the station, and also disclosed that the situation had made Abia state to lose out whenever there was recruitment in NTA, as the station was excluded, even when many qualified Abians were willing to be employed.
