Tecno Spark is a member of a new range of smartphones by Tecno targeted at photography enthusiasts on a budget, especially young people. Also known as the Tecno K7, the phone features cameras that promise an experience similar to that of a Camon CX and comes with an octa-core processor.

Design and Display

While it is an affordable phone, the Tecno Spark doesn’t look cheap that much. The device looks solid with its metallic design. It has a somewhat slim body at a thickness of 7.9 millimetres. You will be able to get the Tecno Spark in gold, blue, black and red colours.

The 5.5-inch IPS display on the front offers ample screen estate for movies and games. Some users might consider the HD resolution a bit low, but not at this price.



Camera and Storage

The main selling point, for Tecno, appears to be the cameras on the Spark. The primary camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, while that of the selfie camera is 5 megapixels. On paper, these look to impress. This is more so given both come with flash support for quality images in dark settings.

Onboard storage stands at 16 GB. If that’s not enough, the Tecno Spark can take a microSD card with capacity of up to 32 GB for expansion.

Performance and OS

The Tecno Spark promises enjoyable performance, especially for an average user. It comes with an octa-core MediaTek processor running at 1.3 GHz. This receives backing from 1GB RAM and a Mali-T720 GPU. Tecno runs the phone on its own HiOS software, based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Supplying juice to the Tecno Spark is a 3,000mAh Li-Ion battery, which is decent considering the HD resolution. You will find a fingerprint sensor on the rear – a good addition for those sensitive about their personal information.

The Tecno Spark smartphone offers dual SIM slots, both of which seem to support super fast 4G connectivity. As usual, there are also microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for your connectivity needs.
