Nkporo Community Battle 2019: elders abandon ude oko chukwu, backs arua arunsi for house of reps (photos)

The political situation in Nkporo community in Ohafia LGA took another dimension yesterday as Elders, Chiefs, Eze’s and Community Leaders all filed out behind Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi OFR in support of his 2019 House of Representative ambition thereby backing out from H.E Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu’s continuous Deputy Governorship’s aspirations for 2019.

The august gathering which held at Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi’s country home in Nkporo Okwe, Ohafia LGA was attended by community members across all the political parties, structures and youths of the community.

Speaking during the gathering, the chairman of Arua Forum Mr. Ndukwe stated that the reason behind the gathering was for the community to speak in one voice and support Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi’s House as Representative bid. He maintained that the only way Nkporo people will see development in the community is by supporting Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi.

While speaking during the gathering, Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi made it categorically clear that every development in Nkporo community has been by individual efforts and so no son or daughter of Nkporo should be stopped from aspiring for any political position.

Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi explained that in 2015 he stepped down his ambition even though he was coasting home with victory due to the general interest of Nkporo people, he made it clear that he had a choice of going to another party, but he refused to do that because Nkporo comes first to him. But in 2019, he is ready and will win.

He reminded the community that when he was in the House of Representative he attracted a N7.2 Billion Nkporo road construction, but because he didn’t go back to the House of Representative that project is not yet completed.

I am contesting again because this projects and others I attracted that must be completed and I need your support to make that happen” he concluded.

Former President General of Nkporo development Union, Hon. Agwu admonished the people to forget about their past political misfortune and support Arua’s 2019 political aspiration.

Hon. Anya Onyi Okiyi during the event moved a motion for the adoption of Hon. Arua Arunsi’s as their candidate for Ohafia/Arochukwu Federal Constituency and the motion was fully adopted.

The traditional rulers of the community unanimously adopted Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi.
